How We Can Help You

What is Chiropractic?

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a healthcare profession that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Chiropractors believe that the body has the innate ability to heal itself, and they use a variety of techniques to help your body achieve this goal.

The most common chiropractic technique is spinal adjustment, which involves using gentle pressure to realign your spine. Chiropractors may also use other techniques, such as massage therapy, exercise therapy, and heat therapy.

What is a chiropractic adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment is a procedure in which a chiropractor uses their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal of this procedure is to improve spinal motion and improve your body’s physical function.

What to expect during a chiropractic adjustment

During a chiropractic adjustment, you will lie on a special table. The chiropractor will place their hands on your spine and use gentle pressure to realign your joints. You may hear a popping sound during the adjustment. This is normal, it is not usually painful, and is caused by the release of gases from your joints.

You Are In Safe Hands

A chiropractor has to train at university for a minimum of 5 years to qualify as Doctor of Chiropractic.  They also have to be registered with the General Chiropractic Council.

For you this means that they are experts in diagnosing, treating and managing issues relating to your muscles, your bones and joints and your nerves.

They do not prescribe medication, instead they use a hands-on approach to treatment and may also advise on lifestyle and even give you some exercise to help you in your rehabilitaion between appointments.
